Reporting illegal content
Anyone can report content on the Platform that they believe is illegal or breaks the Terms of use, the Posting rules or the Firearms listing rules – a listing, a review or a user profile.
How to report
- The "Report" button on a listing, review or user profile – the fastest way, the report reaches the moderators straight away.
- By e-mail to [email protected] if you have no account.
So that we can act, a report should contain:
- the exact link to the content,
- the reason – why you believe the content is illegal or against the rules,
- your name and e-mail (except for reports of suspected child sexual abuse, where this is optional),
- a statement that the information in the report is accurate and complete to the best of your knowledge.
What happens next
- A moderator (not just an automated tool) reviews the report without undue delay.
- We tell the reporter about the decision.
- If we remove or restrict content, or block an account, the author receives a statement of reasons: what was decided, why, on which rule or law, and how to challenge the decision (Complaints).
- Content pointing to a criminal offence threatening the life or safety of persons is reported to the competent authorities.
Abuse of reporting (manifestly unfounded reports) may lead to a temporary suspension of reporting.
