Firearms listing rules
Listings of firearms, ammunition and essential firearm parts follow stricter rules than other listings. The Platform is for publishing listings only – it takes no part in the sale, payment or handover of firearms, and a published listing does not confirm that the sale is lawful.
Who may post
- Only registered adult users, with a verified mobile number whenever that check is switched on.
- When posting, the advertiser explicitly confirms that they are the lawful owner, that the item is not a category A weapon, to whom they may hand it over, that they will deregister the firearm within 8 days of the sale and that the serial number is not shown in the listing. The confirmations are stored with the listing.
- Every listing in these categories is reviewed by a moderator before it is published.
Weapon categories
The category under the Act on the Acquisition and Possession of Firearms by Citizens is set automatically by the Platform from the listing's subcategory (and the special type of firearm or the bow's draw weight) and shown on the listing:
- B – acquisition permit (most hunting firearms): handed over only to a person with a valid acquisition permit or firearms licence, or to an authorised dealer; the same applies to ammunition for these firearms.
- C – declaration (air and gas weapons, deactivated and antique firearms, bows above 450 N): may be acquired by persons over 21 and by hunters aged 18 or over, declared to the police within 8 days.
- D – free (bows up to 450 N, edged weapons, airsoft): no permit or declaration.
- A – prohibited weapons cannot be advertised: automatic weapons, suppressors and their parts, military and police weapons, concealed weapons, armour-piercing, explosive and incendiary ammunition, magazines above 10 rounds for long guns or 20 for handguns (except rim-fire). The Platform does not allow knuckle-dusters either.
Essential firearm parts (barrel, bolt, receiver, slide, cylinder) belong to the category of the firearm they are made for.
What is forbidden
- firearms "without papers", unregistered, converted, deactivated contrary to the rules or of unknown origin,
- prohibited firearms and parts whose trade is forbidden by law,
- listings offering to get around the conditions for acquisition, possession or transfer (e.g. "no registration", "licence not needed"),
- sales to persons who do not meet the legal conditions.
Listings with forbidden phrases, a serial number in the text or a magazine above the legal capacity are refused automatically when posted. We remove other such listings and may block the account. Content pointing to a criminal offence is reported to the competent authorities.
Obligations of seller and buyer
The trade in firearms is governed by the Croatian Act on the Acquisition and Possession of Firearms by Citizens; the conditions depend on the category. Before the handover:
- the seller checks that the buyer holds a valid document for acquiring that category,
- buyer and seller notify the competent police administration within the legal deadline and complete all transfer obligations,
- the handover is done in person and in accordance with the law – the Platform plays no part in it.
Check the detailed conditions in force with the Ministry of the Interior or your police administration.
Serial numbers, personal data and documents
The firearm's serial number may not be visible in the photos or stated in the title or description – cover it or photograph the gun from another angle. Do not show identity cards, firearms licences, permits or your home address either. The Platform does not ask for or store copies of your documents.
Reporting a suspicious listing
If you think a listing breaks these rules or the law, use the "Report" button on the listing or see Reporting illegal content.
